Cases spike in Pasay, Muntinlupa, Parañaque

MANILA, Philippines — The number of active COVID-19 cases have surged in Pasay, Muntinlupa and Parañaque, according to records of their respective city governments.

In less than two weeks, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Pasay jumped from just one to 77, according to data from the city government.

Records show that as of Dec. 30, the number of active cases was at 77. It was on Dec. 20 that the city recorded one active case and this stood until Dec. 23.

There were 39 new active cases recorded from Dec. 29 to 30, bringing the total number of active COVID-19 cases to 77.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the city of Parañaque also surged to 63 on Thursday from just 13 on Dec. 24.

Muntinlupa recorded 48 cases on Thursday from five on Dec. 20.

The mayors of each of the three cities urged residents to strictly follow minimum health protocols and to follow social distancing.
