3 hurt in North Cotabato blast

MATALAM, North Cotabato – Three persons, including a 10-year-old, were wounded in an explosion in Barangay Kilada in this town on Wednesday.

Elizabeth Wahing, Florencio Wahing and the child suffered shrapnel wounds in various parts of the body.

The victims were near a store along the highway when an unidentified man lobbed the explosive.

Maj. Junrel Amotan of the Matalam police said that prior to the blast, gunshots were heard.

“By the looks of it, it was a grenade explosion,” Amotan said.
