NCRPO recovers Nuezca’s firearm
MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has recovered the firearm of Jonel Nuezca, the former police officer convicted for killing a woman and her son in Paniqui, Tarlac.
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos yesterday commended the NCRPO for implementing Bawi Operation, which resulted in the recovery of service firearms from dismissed officers.
The NCRPO coordinated with the Paniqui police and the Tarlac City police’s forensic unit for the recovery of Nuezca’s firearm, which he surrendered to the municipal police after the killing.
Nuezca was convicted by a local court in Paniqui for killing Sonia Gregorio, 52, and her son Frank Anthony, 25, late last year.
NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said three more firearms were recovered from other dismissed
officers.
