PNP reshuffles 22 officials

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police reshuffled 22 senior PNP officials to key positions effective today amid the retirement of three generals this month.

The revamp was implemented a month before the retirement of PNP chief Gen. Debold Sinas.

In a special order signed by Lt. Gen. Joselito Vera Cruz, chief of the PNP directorial staff, 13 one-star generals and nine colonels were reshuffled to various police offices.

Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Licup, who will retire on April 9, was transferred to Sinas’ office. Brig. Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. will replace Licup as director of comptrollership.

PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Ildebrandi Usana and deputy chief for operations Lt. Gen. Cesar Binag will retire on April 20 and 24, respectively. They will be keeping their posts.

Brigadier Generals Erson Digal, Conrado Gongon Jr., Samuel Rodriguez, Julius Lagawid and R’win Pagkalinawan were reassigned to the personnel holding and accounting unit of the directorate for personnel records management.

Replacing Rodriguez as regional director of the Bangsamoro police is Brig. Gen. Eden Ugale. Brig. Gen. Patrick Villacorte will replace Gongon as director of the communications and electronics service.

Drug Enforcement Group chief Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee was named director of the regional police office of Cordillera. He will be replaced by Brig. Gen. Remus Medina as DEG head.

Brig. Gen. Randolf Balonglong was transferred to the office of the PNP chief. Brig. Gen. Alexander Sampaga was reassigned to the directorate for information and communications technology management.

Colonels Salvador Alacyang, Fernando Ortega and Edwin Wagan were reassigned to the Eastern Visayas police office, office of the PNP chief and the directorate for logistics, respectively.

Others who were reshuffled were Colonels Rudolph Dimas (Western Visayas police), Emmanuel Hebron (Calabarzon police), Enrique Magalona (Ilocos police), Marilou Martinez (Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group), Ramil Montilla (Civil Security Group) and Randy Peralta (office of the PNP chief).
