Fire razes 10 hectares of Benguet forest

ITOGON, Benguet  , Philippines  —  Around 10 hectares of forest in this town were destroyed in a fire on Wednesday.

Probers said the fire, which started near an open pit of Philex Mines in Sitio Pukis, Barangay Ampucao at around 10 a.m., was declared out at around 5 p.m.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
