Drug suspect, 2 others slain in shootings

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines  —  A drug suspect and two other persons were gunned down in Cavite and Batangas yesterday.

Erickson Sarmiento, who is on the drug watchlist, reportedly shot it out with anti-narcotics agents in Barangay Bucal, Mendez, Cavite at around 1 a.m.

Also in Cavite, Jory Barela was shot by an unidentified man who entered his house in Barangay San Francisco 1, Dasmariñas.

Randy Mario, 43, was driving his tricycle on his way home when he was shot in Barangay Luta Norte, Malvar, Batangas.

Police have yet to determine if the killings of Barela and Mario were drug-related.
