Eight drug dependents collared in raid

LAGUNA , Philippines  – A day after the raid of the shabu tiangge and arrested 25 people in Biñan town, anti-narcotics operatives arrested eight people caught in the act of using illegal drugs in a suspected shabu pub house during a raid in Barangay Malaban, here, Sunday afternoon, police said yesterday.

Those arrested were Dominador Salino, Alejandro Garcia, Eric Corales, Alfredo Espeleta, Rodel Corpuz, Florencio Diaz, Elezar Garcia and Rollan Getape.

Senior Superintendent Manolito Labador, Laguna provincial director, said the arrested suspects are now locked up at the municipal jail. They were charged for violation of RA 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Labador said the arrested drug users and pushers were caught in the act of using methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) inside a house on Borja Street, Barangay Malaban, Biñan town at around 5 p.m. Sunday. – Ed Amoroso
