Or. Mindoro PPO adjudged best in MIMAROPA

-

CALAPAN CITY – Another “feather” has been added to Oriental Mindoro’s cap, after the Oriental Mindoro provincial police office was adjudged as 2007’s “best PPO of the year” award for the whole Region 4-B or MIMAROPA Region (Mindoro-Marinduque-Romblon-Palawan).

A year-long consistency in police operations and administration, coupled with community relations in Oriental Mindoro gave the “Mindoro’s finest” the points needed to be adjudged as last year’s top police unit in the region.

The award was given during the 17th Philippine National Police (PNP) anniversary held recently at Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba City, Laguna.

Police Senior Superintendent Agrimero A. Cruz, Jr. said, “This award is a result of our commitment and service to the people of Oriental Mindoro, most importantly made possible by the support of the provincial government, the local chief executives, and the whole (Mindoro) populace as well.”

The Oriental Mindoro PPO topped four other MIMAROPA provinces by bagging the “best provincial mobile group” award – the Calapan City-based 409th PMG – for meritorious accomplishment during the dismantling of the clandestine shabu drug laboratory in Barangay Navotas, this city; the best city police station – Calapan City PNP – for exemplary performance in the field of police operations and administration for the year 2007; and best women and children protection desk (rural category) of the year 2007 (regional and national level) – Puerto Galera municipal police station – for distinguished accomplishments in the implementation of women’s and children’s concern desk by providing laudable service to women and children in distress.  – Juancho Mahusay
