Man made woman

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - “The doll is a universal symbol of consumer capitalism where the woman is once again objectified, yet the whole nation embraces the woman wearing the PH sash. So what does physical beauty really mean in Third World countries? In ManMadeWoman, the parade of homogenized female bodies questions the celebrity of beauty pageants — what does it really mean to aim for the crown?” — Nikki Luna, ManMadeWoman, 2014.

Nikki Luna will have an artist talk on May 21 at

6 p.m.  in SLAB Silverlens, Makati.

The exhibit will run until May 31, 2014
