Young Filipino artists take Art HK 12

MANILA, Philippines - For the biggest art month in Hong Kong, a group of young Filipino artists are staging a coup of sorts—with a new Filipino-led art advisory firm taking the helm.

Lightbombs Contemporary, an Asian and Western Art advisory founded in 2011, presents “Introducing: Lightbombs Contemporary,” a pop-up showroom at Art East Island 2012 in coordination with Art HK 12. Works by young artists Zeus Bascon, Michael De Feo, Jed Escueta, Dex Fernandez, Dan Findlay, David Griggs, Jonathan Jay Lee, Maya Muñoz, Christina Quisumbing Ramilo, Carina Santos, Marc Standing, and Pancho Villanueva will be exhibited. Hailing from the Philippines, Australia, New York, and Hong Kong, the exhibit gives a taste of art on the cusp.

Lightbombs was founded by Hong Kong-based art advisor Zoe Dulay to promote and represent vibrant international contemporary artists, allowing their work to be experienced by broader audiences. Along with this, Lightbombs provides art lovers and collectors with art that may sit outside of their initial interests and is on the cusp of what the market is mainstreaming.

In a new era of art initiatives Lightbombs exists to tether relationships through a one on one experience with both ends. It is a gathering of the constantly curious and passionate under the dynamic and transparent light of art.
