FROM COFFEE TO COCKTAILS - Celine Lopez -
Fashion is always about backlash. Eighties excess led to grunge then to zen then to bling. Now if you’re thinking it’s granola country once again after all the customized hummers and monogrammed Birkins, think again. Yes, the good times are back, but in a very precious way.

Loafing around or painting the town red now has a standard issue uniform. The most glamorous people who have made their mark swaying like proud peacocks down the red carpet in priceless couture, can be seen sipping their designer coffee in stylish tanks and tees (thanks tabloids!). Basic never means boring as chaos can come in the simplest of packages.

That’s exactly what Ruby Anne Panlilio Bautista thought when she started Groovyanne (after her clever nickname). "I just wanted to do something interesting and different. You realize that when you step out of your house people tend to wear the same thing. I wanted to offer something unique," Ruby Anne says. After Ruby Anne went to design school in Florence, she made her first shirt for her cousin and before she knew it she was swamped with orders. She hopes to make Groovyanne grow into a full-fledged clothing line in the near future.

For now Ruby Anne will just have watch her tops grow into a cult favorite.

Groovyanne shirts can be ordered through 0917-5312131 and accessories from Olivia Claparols can be ordered by texting or calling 0917-9998900.
