Layer hands on these

- From the Philippine Star’s YS -
Getting the chills but still trying to do without your jacket? Can’t find a solution to beat the super-cold air-conditioning in your school or office? Ashamed to wear that thick winter jacket your aunt sent you? Jag Jeans gives the lowdown on layering so you can mix and match clothes that will keep you feeling warm and looking fab.

1. A jacket is essential in cold weather, but what if it’s not enough? Try on a triple deck of plain shirt, colorful long-sleeved sweater and dark-colored jacket. Just remember to wear contrasting colors to perk up your look.

2. Do a topsy-turvy act. Inspired by ’80s fashion, wear a tight-fit long-sleeved sweater under a short-sleeved bright-colored shirt or checkered polo.

3. Candy cane is the perfect holiday sweet, and so is striped long-sleeved shirt in mint green and cherry red topped with black currant or a frothy white 3/4 sleeved baby anorak.

4. Want to be a modern military dude? Go for a multi-pocket fatigue jacket over checkered or plain short-sleeved polo and colored sports shirts.

5. The college jock never goes out of style with dark corduroy or denim jackets over graying polo shirt and bright undershirt.

6. Want to play peek-a-boo? Cover your ultra-chic printed bandeau or tube with a zip-on hooded anorak that you can easily zip up or down depending on how much skin you would like to show.

7. The hippie guy and gal can try on a new twist with colorful tie-dyed shirts over plain long-sleeved sweatshirt and covered up with distressed or worn-out denim jackets.

8. Preppy kids should still stick classic short-sleeved polos topped with V-neck sweaters and college jacket or cardigans.

9. Go radically cool with turtleneck sweaters worn with colorful cardigan vests and topped with leather jackets or faux fur jeans.
