MANILA, Philippines - In October’s Zeitgeist, the focus seems to be on Filipinos who have put the country in the global spotlight. Topping the charts of pop culture terms most searched for on Google is boxer Nonito Donaire who, despite his loss to Nicholas Walters, still cornered the interest of Filipinos. Another hot topic was the victory of 15-year-old Marlisa Punzalan on X-Factor Australia (her coach Ronan Keating also made it to the top musicians list at the ninth spot). Filipinos also searched madly for Kobe Paras, with his recent acceptance to play for UCLA Bruins in the US NCAA.
