The heels are alive at Adora's Shoe Mecca

Women who want to indulge in a little retail therapy and put the spring back in their step now have a new destination when it comes to shoe shopping: Adora’s new shoe department called Shoe Mecca.

It is, as the name suggests, the one-stop place for shoe shopping, a shoe haven for your soles with beautiful shoes that won’t necessarily burn a hole in your designer purse. Located in Adora, (Greenbelt 5, level 3)Shoe Mecca carries four mid-range brands (from P4,000 to just above P10,000): Pretty Ballerinas, Schutz, Stella Luna, and What For. The brands are so well curated that they cover all occasions and styles to go with any and all your outfits.

Adora’s strongest points in all its departments are both its merchandise mix and its service. It’s no different at Shoe Mecca, where its frontline people are well-trained in assisting women who know exactly the kind of shoes they want and women who have no idea what to buy to match an outfit for a particular occasion; they are also able to translate European and Brazilian sizes into the more familiar American sizing, and figuring out styles that are comfortable for the shape of your feet.

Pretty Ballerinas offers ballerina shoes, ballet flats and ballet pumps. Established in 1918 on the island of Menorca in the Mediterranean sea, the shoe brand is still produced in the same village and by the same family to this day.

This season, there are patent ballerinas in nude, lilac, pink, aqua, gray snake ballerinas, neutral snake ballerinas, Liberty print ballerinas, Sanderson print, Swarovski crystal ballerinas, animal print ballerinas, pastels, and many more.

One brand that many women have loved for years is Stella Luna. The brand offers some of the sexiest styles around — killer shoes no doubt, with sky-rocketing heels, flirty satin, Swarovsksi embellishment, and sexy straps. Winners will be drawn every Friday at “Shoe o’clock” (2 p.m.) for four weeks, with the first one drawn last Friday.

Or you can make a guess online. Just “like” Adora’s Facebook page and follow its Twitter account, where a picture is posted and put down your guess. Needless to say, there’s a much better chance at being accurate when you personally see the suitcase with shoes peeking out at Adora.

The Shoe Mecca Birthday Treat began on April 21 as Adora’s social media accounts posted the birthday treat sign a day ahead of time. One just has to check Adora’s FB and Twitter and when you see “We have a birthday treat for you!  Go to Adora and claim your gift,” be one of the first two (if it’s your birthday) to claim your gift — a pair of shoes from the Shoe Mecca. You must show proof, of course, that it is the exact date of your birthday. Adora will randomly choose which dates to give away shoes, so be alert and quick.

Shoe Mecca’s Mom’s Day gives shoppers P2,000 Adora Cash whenever you and your mom post a picture taken from the Shoe Mecca Ballerina display with any purchase of an item from Shoe Mecca from April 21 to May 13. You can use the cash gift on the same day or your next visit to buy another pair of shoes.
