Take the great Pinatubo challenge

-

MANILA, Philippines - Who can forget the immense Mt. Pinatubo eruption last June 1991, also considered as the largest volcanic explosion of the century that happened in the Philippines? And for those born after the great blast and missed the event, history books tell the story of large volumes of sulfur, volcanic ash that covered Pampanga, nearby provinces and even Manila for days.

The Mt. Pinatubo outbreak severely altered Pampanga’s landscape, but has made the province famous for day trips and treks to its famed volcano and crater.   Almost everyone would want to experience boarding a 4x4 vehicle to reach the jump-off point of the trail. Traversing miles and miles of volcanic sand, giving a preview on the destruction wreaked by the angry outburst of Mt. Pinatubo is something both thrilling and startling. Who could ever imagine that those sand deserts were once hectares of green rice fields and compact forests?

This April 28, join the “Byaheng Victory” as it takes you to the great Mt. Pinatubo challenge. The bumpy ride to numerous streams crossing and sand deserts is “Byaheng Victory’s” third adventure tour after the resounding success of its Visita Iglesia Road trip and Summer Fun Break at Zambales. “Byaheng Victory” is a series of group tours initiated by the country’s premier bus transportation company, Victory Liner.

In partnership with Travel Factor, one of the biggest adventure tour providers in the country, Byaheng Victory promotes a taste of atypical and exceptional destinations reached by Victory Liner.

Only 45 slots are available for the tour. For as low as P 2,450. Assembly is early morning of April 28 at a Victory Liner bus station and participants are expected to be back in Manila at 8 p.m.

For more information, call 746-5119, 0917-8475341, e-mail tours@travelfactor.org or log on to www.travelfactor.org.

Participants of the Byaheng Victory’s Great Mt. Pinatubo Challenge get roundtrip chartered bus transfers, roundtrip 4x4 vehicle transport to the hiking trail, all entrance, guide and conservation fees, travel insurance and a Byaheng Victory ID. A side trip to Capas Shrine will be done if time permits.
