Share and spread the joy of Christmas

- Lai S. Reyes -

MANILA, Philippines – We can hardly think of Christmas without gifts. And so this holiday season, nothing could be more rewarding than to share your blessings not only with your loved ones but with the less fortunate as well. That was the message Ayala Malls wanted to share with its patrons when it launched its Christmas Cheer Station, an arts and crafts nook.

This arts and crafts workplace not only tickles children’s imagination with the interesting activities especially designed for them. It also teaches them the value of sharing and spreading joy to everyone.

Access to the Christmas Cheer Station is absolutely free. If you want to participate in the activities, all you have to do is either donate two or more items from the Christmas charity wish (it can be a box of crayons or pens, a book, an old toy or clothes) or present P1,000 worth of same-day, single or accumulated receipt/s from any Ayala mall. The gift donations will be distributed to Ayala Malls’ chosen beneficiaries like Habitat for Humanity and Centex.

Pastry queen: Sugar and Fresh star Anna Olson shared her sweet secrets with shoppers at Greenbelt 5. Kids had fun with Anna, too, in the cupcake-decorating workshop.

One of the activities featured at the Christmas Station was the ragdoll-making workshop conducted by Manikako, a non-profit organization that teaches children how to make their own dolls from old clothes and recycled materials.

Aside from teaching kids the importance of recycling, Manikako also made them realize how scraps of fabric, old clothes, and sewing materials could give hope to the less fortunate kids.

Also at the Cheer Station, little girls had a heyday decorating their favorite cupcakes, while others had fun fixing their hair and painting their nails at the kiddie salon. The boys weren’t left out as they, too, put their creativity to good use by jazzing up their art tees. The Ayala Malls designed all these activities to bring children’s creativity to the fore and inspire them to always give their best in whatever they do.

Meet and greet Santa

Artsy-craftsy: Kids put their creativity to good use at the arts and crafts workshops.

Meet and greet Santa by simply presenting P1,000 worth of same-day, single or accumulated receipts or donate two or more items from the Christmas charity wish list. This entitles the shopper to have a photo with Santa free of charge. See Santa up close and personal today, Dec. 19, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Ayala Malls — Glorietta, Greenbelt, Alabang Town Center, Market! Market!, Bonifacio High Street, and TriNoma.

Wrap it up for the holidays

In an effort to make Christmas shopping a breeze, Ayala Malls has gift-wrapping stations where shoppers can have their gift items wrapped while scouring the shops or having lunch or merienda.

They can also get the limited-edition Christmas shopping bag for only P10 by presenting P500 worth of receipts from their favorite Ayala Mall or get it free by presenting P1,000 worth of receipts. The shopping bags come in three sizes: small, medium, large. If you get the three and put them on top of each other, you’ll form a Nutcracker soldier!

Proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity, Centex, and the Children’s Hour. Redemption is from Dec. 1 to 31.

Christmas is, indeed, a season for sharing and the Ayala Malls is the perfect venue to do your share for charity.
