Something to meow about

MANILA, Philippines - Victoria Rico Costina will launch her book Those Who Love Cats on March 4 at 3 p.m. at the Student-Alumni Center in UP Baguio. During the launch there will be an art exhibit of cat paintings in watercolor by Angie V. Salanio. “Let into our lives the cat teaches us humor, good will, courage and, ultimately, beneficence at the heart of things. The Book of Job expresses: ‘ask the beasts to teach you, the birds of the air to tell you. Who among them does not understand that behind all this is God’s hand?’” writes Costina in her preface. Costina is an associate professor of English at UP Baguio. She took her masters in comparative literature at UP Diliman. The proceeds from the sale of the book will go to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
