AKCUPI sends judges to dog shows in Asia and Spain

MANILA, Philippines - In response to the invitation of dog clubs in Asia and Spain, the Asian Kennel Club Union of the Philippines,Inc. (AKCUPI) sent homegrown judges to adjudicate at the international all-breed dog shows from September to December this year. According to Henry G. Babiera, chairman/president of AKCUPI, who noted that the invitation is proof of the international acknowledgement and recognition of the Filipinos’ judging credentials and capability, the club will send Jester Jo Ong Chuan to the Kennel Club of Myanmar’s 1st all-breed championship show, Sept. 26-27; Ed Cruz, AKCUPI VP to the all-breed dog show in Valencia, Spain, Oct. 3; Dr. Nathaniel Cheng to Sarawak Kennel Club’s 1st all-breed championship show in Western Malaysia, Oct. 3; and Joseph Ong Chuan to the 1st all-breed championship show of  East Malaysia Dog Association (EMDA), Dec. 12.

Babiera also disclosed the staging of the 1st and 2nd international all-breed dog shows of AKCUPI’s affiliate, Club Terriales Filipinas, today and tomorrow, Sept. 18 and 19, at Tiendesitas, Ortigas Ave. Cor. E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave. (C-5), Pasig City.

Two top-notch international all-breed judges, Dr. Osvaldo Sanchez, a medical surgeon by profession from Argentina, and Jose Antonio Pineda Martinez from Barcelona, Spain with over 20 years experience in dog training education will adjudicate the dog shows from where they will pick their own set of best baby puppy, best Philippine-born and best in show.
