Sean Kingston chills with Stella

-

MANILA, Philippines - Sean Kingston would never leave his canine pal Stella chained up outside—and that’s why the reggae fusion sensation has teamed up with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Asia for an ad.

In the ad, Kingston and Stella appear together on a sofa above the words “Chill With Your Dogs. Never Chain Them.” PETA is launching the ad in the Philippines to coincide with Supafest Manila 2010, a concert to be held today, which will feature Kingston and other artists performing their hits.

In a recent interview, the “Eenie Meenie” singer talked about how dogs have enriched his life. “My new dog, Sunshine — there’s been, like, a huge chemistry between me and her. So I definitely would say (having her) in the studio … makes it a better vibe.”

The ad reads, “Your dogs are your best friends, so keep them inside and make them part of the family. Because life on a chain is no life at all.” Dogs who spend their lives alone at the end of a chain or inside a cage ache for companionship. They endure all weather extremes—from torrential downpour to sweltering heat—often without receiving adequate food, water, or veterinary care. Being chained also makes dogs fearful and aggressive.

Kingston joins a number of musicians and other celebrities — including Lea Michele of Glee, Twilight series actor Christian Serratos, Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington, and teen pop star Justin Bieber — who have teamed up with PETA to help animals.
