Three years ago, good friends Georgina Wilson, Martine Cajucom, Bea Soriano Dee and Eric Dee got together to create their dream eyewear line that would be utterly stylish and affordable. They called the company Sunnies Studios.
Recently these creative individuals — artists in their own right — held an intimate gathering for friends and special guests at Pig and Palm, a Michelin-starred restaurant of British chef Jason Atherton to kick off their nationwide expansion with the launch of their first store outside the capital.
Georgina, the company’s marketing director, enthusiastically shared that Sunnies has 40 stores nationwide and has expanded online to southeast Asia. “We noticed a growing trend where our sunglasses were being converted into prescription eyewear, which eventually led to the conception of Sunnies Specs.”
Sunnies Specs worked relentlessly with top optometrists, studying the procedure and science until they developed their own formula of crafting premium optical eyewear.
These frames are crafted from high-quality materials such as acetate, flexilight and metal and are lightweight, durable and comfortable for everyday wear. The lenses are multi-coated on all pairs and are equipped with UV protection, anti-reflection and anti-glare plus, it’s water and scratch resistant.
With a vision to make the experience of getting glasses easier and more enjoyable, customers can get a quick eye exam by trained optometrists, customized prescription lenses and a quality frame all on the same day. Other upgrade options are also available based on personal preferences.
Changing the eyewear game with their leading-edge technology, Sunnies Specs continues to provide optimal and quality service.

Oceana is the largest international advocacy organization dedicated solely to ocean conservation. To help promote their campaign against the twin bane of uncontrolled coastal development and illegal fishing in the country’s fragile marine ecosystem, they invited conservation advocate and senior adviser to Oceana, Alexandra Cousteau, to visit the Philippines and help promote awareness on sustainable fisheries management and the global fight against illegal fishing practices.
During her visit, she met with national and local political authorities, environment officials, representatives from the academe, the youth and most importantly, local communities who are the front-liners in the campaign to save and protect the oceans.
A sought-after speaker, Cousteau who is the granddaughter of renowned undersea explorer Jacques Cousteau, talked about Oceana’s global campaign “Save the Oceans, Feed the World” at the University of Cebu, Banilad Campus.
She likewise visited Apo Island in Negros Oriental where she interacted with community leaders whose strong partnership with the government and private sector in protecting their rich marine resources has become a sterling model for protected areas.
