MANILA, Philippines — Children should adapt to their surroundings in their own time, said actress and celebrity mother Elisse Joson.

The actress and her daughter Felize feature in the newest season of kiddie reality series "Bibolilits."

During a media conference for the show last month, Elisse was asked about parents whose kids were shy or have trouble leaving their comfort zone.

"We shouldn't force kids to do what they're comfortable doing," Elisse began, noting how it hard is to convince any person in the first place.

For children entering a new environment or surroundings, the actress advises parents to just let the young ones be, allowing them to warm up on their own and realize how safe or comfortable they are, "Unti-unti mawawala shyness nila without force."

Elisse shared that Felize, her daughter with former partner McCoy de Leon, started at a young age being surrounded by different people. The young mother thinks this might be the reason why she is not afraid of exposing Felize to more people.

"Kaya siya mas confident at comfortable being with people," she added while indicating Felize was like "diesel" that still needs warming up.

To show her case, Elisse pointed to Felize walking around the conference area. "I never force her to do anything... I let her warm up first on her own, exposing herself to people," the actress ended.
