Globe fetes loyal subscribers
MANILA, Philippines - What do Vice President Jejomay Binay, basketball legend Robert Jaworski, former senator Jamby Madrigal, businessman Amable Agiluz IX and Zonta International president Olivia Ferry have in common? They are all members of an elite club composed of the pioneer subscribers of Globe Telecom and owners of a limited edition, White BlackBerry Bold 9700 that only a very lucky group of Globe subscribers have.
Globe recently feted its longest-tenured subscribers to a night of merriment to celebrate the Lucky 0917, the select group of Globe customers who have been with the brand since it opened its doors in 1994 and whose 16-year tenure with the brand has led many of them to be its most ardent advocates. The chi-chi party was held at the NBC Tent last Oct. 6, exclusively for the over-1,700 pioneer subscribers of Globe. The event marks a first in the telecommunication industry as Globe treated its most loyal and oldest-tenured subscribers.
More than a 1,000 Globe pioneer subscribers danced the night away with music from the ‘70s and ‘80s courtesy of The Real Groove band. The night became even more exciting as 200 limited edition BlackBerry Bold 9700 handhelds, each one coming in a chic snow-white hue that cannot be found in any store in the Philippines, were raffled-off to lucky pioneer subscribers. These white BlackBerry Bold handsets are so limited that Research in Motion (RIM), the makers of the ubiquitous BlackBerry, manufactured very few of these devices.
Globe CEO Ernest Cu and Yoly Crisanto (second and fourth from let) with Advertising Standard Council’s Jones Campos, Cristina Honrado-Dasig, Adi Pena and Raymond Nacino“Our customers are our reason for being, and forging lasting relationships with them is important to us. Everything we do is intended to delight them and to assure them that they made the right choice when they picked Globe. And for our pioneer customers, those who have been with us from the very beginning, we want to make it truly rewarding to be Globe-connected. We want to thank them for staying with Globe through thick and thin, all these years,” said Jay Beltran, head of loyalty and customer relationship marketing of Globe Telecom.
Globe has broken ground in communications, introducing a host of firsts: the country’s first text messaging service, SMS or Short Messaging Service; Globe Platinum, the first exclusive membership providing preferred service for discerning subscribers; the first selection of customizable design-your-own freebie-enriched postpaid plans, My SuperPlan and My Fully Loaded Plan; the largest and most comprehensive rewards program in the industry, My Rewards, My Globe, open to over 24 million Globe, TM and Tattoo postpaid and prepaid users; and, most recently, the first mobile advertising platform on the Philippines. A leader in innovation and the number one postpaid brand in the country, Globe will continue to offer more to delight its millions of customers.
