Eat to the beat at Robinsons this summer

Scott R. Garceau - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Picture this: you’re relaxing this summer with friends in Robinsons Malls, enjoying great food and drinks. The place is buzzing with activity and the pleasures of the summer months.

What would make the picture even better?

How about some free live music from top pinoy bands?

Robinsons adds extra bite to the summer concert scene with an ingenious promo called the Soundbites Music Festival. A joint partnership between Robinsons Malls and The Philippine STAR, Soundbites serves up a series of musical concerts/events this summer featuring top Pinoy artists such as Side A, Rico Blanco, Brownman Revival, Reggae Mistress, Sabor Latino and Brass Pas Pas Pas Pas. It’s a diverse smorgasboard of music genres for everyone’s enjoyment — pop, reggae, latin, alternative, mainstream.

Music lovers and mallers can get to watch these concerts free of charge for every P500 purchase from any participating restaurants of the above-mentioned malls until May 30. They should keep their food purchase receipts and present them at the activity area on the day of the concert, just before the concert starts to claim their concert wrist tags.

For starters, there’s Side A kicking off the summer festival promo at Robinsons Magnolia on May 17 (8 p.m.); Reggae Mistress and Sabor Latino bring some heavy Latin and Third World beats on May 18 (6:30 p.m.). For the launch on May 17, guests can expect a real festival vibe with fire dancers, raffle prizes, cocktails, appetizers, barbecue and light alcoholic drinks (i.e., beer).

Over at Robinsons Place Manila on May 23, get your brass in gear with Brass Pas Pas Pas Pas (6:30 p.m.), opening for Brownman Revival’s revved-up ska beats (8 p.m.). The following night, May 24, features another chart-busting visit from Side A (8 p.m.); and the festival will wrap up with a performance by Rico Blanco at Robinsons Galleria on May 30 (8 p.m.).

The promo period runs from April 13 to May 18 at Robinsons Magnolia, April 13 to May 24 at Robinsons Place Manila, and April 13 to May 30 at Robinsons Galleria.

Just present your receipt for a minimum P500 purchase at participating restaurants on the day of the concert, and enjoy free admission. Every P500 spent entitles a customer to one concert wrist tag but for receipts amounting to P2,000 and above, a customer may redeem a maximum of four wrist tags.

Of course, you have to eat at participating restaurants for this promo, and they are:
