What's on the Menu: Long-weekend packages at Discovery Hotels

MANILA, Philippines - The Discovery Hotels offers room packages and special treats for the long weekends: Aug. 18-21, and August 24-27. Discovery Suites Ortigas Center will extend a 10-percent discount on Best Available Room rates for guests staying for one or two nights. Guests who stay for three nights get a 15 percent-discount on their room rate. The city hotel’s “Long Weekend Package” is inclusive of complimentary breakfast for two, Wi-Fi Internet access en suite, 10-percent discount on lunch buffet at Restaurant 5 and a P500 voucher redeemable at Terra Wellness Spa.

Pinoy pizza at Lots’a Pizza

Lots’ a Pizza offers its signature sauce and toppings that are customized for the Filipino palate. Lots’ a Pizza’s 14-inch pizzas are priced from P219 to P279. One pizza can serve eight. Unagi sasameshi at Makati Shangri-La

Makati Shangri-La offers an authentic collection of Japanese fare until Aug. 31. At Inagiku, Japanese chef Wataru Hikawa prepares dishes such as nijimasu shio yaki (grilled rainbow trout with salt), Wagyu toban yaki (thinly sliced Wagyu beef yakiniku-style), and unagi sasameshi (steamed eel and rice wrapped with bamboo leaf).

Philly cheese steak at Chili’s

Chili’s offers its new “Tastes of America” for a limited time. The Philly cheese steak is chargrilled sirloin steak with sautéed onions, mushrooms and bell peppers and oozing cheese, while the Wild West with Chili’s new Texas cheese poppers are loaded with crisp breaded mini poppers filled with melted cheese and flavored with bell peppers, the mild heat of green onions and the freshness of cilantro.

Here, you’ll discover Chili’s New Orleans jambalaya, the classic southern dish with a jazzy blend of diced chicken, smoky bacon and mixed veggies. Grab ‘em Burger at Sizzlin’ Pepper Steak

Sizzlin’ Pepper Steak’s newest offerings are Grab ‘em Burger, a 1/3-pound hamburger patty grilled and slathered with cheese, sautéed mushrooms and special slaw. It comes in special Kaiser bun, a braided milky bun, topped with black sesame seeds; and the Snatch ‘Em Ribs, oven-baked and falling-off-the-bone grilled ribs. The two new dishes can be ordered with diablo sauce, creamy blue cheese, or sweet BBQ sauce.
