MANILA, Philippines — Miss Universe Philippines 2026 Bea Millan-Windorski revealed that she was bullied because of a specific part of her face, but the newly crowned queen remains proud of her looks because she inherited it from her mother and lola (grandmother).

Windorski, who bested 49 other ladies including other frontrunners like herself, faced the press after the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 coronation night held at the Mall of Asia Arena last Saturday, May 2.

“I encountered some bullying about my physical appearance, but that comes with the territory. I was bullied for my chin, but it’s something I love because it’s the same as my mom’s and my lola’s. I would rather honor the stories of the women who came before me than fit a certain beauty standard," Millan-Windorski said.

She added, “First and foremost, you need to be enough for yourself and know who you are. The fact that I was able to embrace my differences and what makes me unique is something that would have made Bea, who was bullied throughout high school, really proud.”

The La Union beauty also vowed to continue her advocacy work, saying, “I promise to continue the work I’ve done for the past 10 years in the Philippines in environmental conservation, working hand-in-hand with the Filipino people and with organizations like Project Korma and the Apple to App Foundation to create a greener and more equitable future for all Filipinos.”

Bea will represent the Philippines in the diamond edition of Miss Universe to be held in Puerto Rico later this year.
