MANILA, Philippines - These days, we get especially giddy because we know summer is here.
Call It Spring heads off on a dusty road trip this season. Their latest campaign is all about True Romance: discovering that profound love between friends and lovers, and for places, ideas and moments. The brand also prepares people for the carefree season as it lets them in on the feel-good spirit with three trends to choose from.
The Graphic Rebirth trend adds a dash of jellies and a pinch of sleek synthetics mixed with a sprinkle of technology-inspired construction. The result: a trend that speaks volumes in bright hues such as highlighters with splashes of metallic detailing, vulcanized high-tops and laced-up chukkas, concealed wedges with killer height and two-toned block heels. It’s a smart and simple approach to everyday life with key silhouettes like modular wedges, block heels, oxfords and essential flat sandals for women. For men, it’s slip-ons, brogues, classic derby shoes and penny loafers. Patent, clean synthetics, snake print, glitter and other shiny materials come into play for the ladies while denim, mesh, leather, twill and canvas are the preferred fabrics for the gentlemen.
Another trend is Exotic Eutopia — a land of prints where the boys and girls come out to play. This trend takes you on a journey through the tropics with a mix-and-match approach. You don’t have to worry about committing a fashion faux pas because there are no rules here. Unique prints are paired with daring materials like rope, mesh and patents. Mixing florals and snakeskin? Unexpected but, yes, that’s allowed. The boys sport nautical inspirations while the girls play it sweet in ’40s- to early ’50s-inspired prints. It’s bright, young and big on floral prints. Also with oriental influences, the trend is all about fun and femininity. Key silhouettes are braided details over woven heels, ankle straps, Mary Janes and T-bars. There are also kitten heels, desert boots and espadrilles. Exotic flowers, micro-suede, straw, cork and rope were chosen as materials.
Lastly, the Rebel Lust trend represents that nonconforming spirit inside us. The style is filled with black and gray with touches of metal studs in patent material. It’s about attitude and uniqueness in silhouettes like lace-ups, cutouts, metal heels, combat boots chunky constructions for women. For men, desert boots, oxfords, Chelsey boots and high-top sneakers in shades of black and charcoal with a few color splashes take footing in this trend.
