The many facets of Ynna

MANILA, Philippines — Alynna Alexandra “Ynna” Asistio is meant to shine. She continues to glow with self-confidence, which allows her to choose what is best for her. Her beauty speaks beyond physical boundaries as it radiates even more when she is able to do the things she loves most.

Ynna, the daughter of actress Nadia Montenegro and the late former Caloocan City Mayor Macario “Boy” Asistio, is known for her string of projects both in TV and film. Today, she focuses on her newfound fancy in the jewelry industry as a certified diamond grader and an engagement and wedding ring specialist.

“It is important to me that I am able to do the things that I love and commit myself fully to them. My mom never forced me to enter showbiz. That was my dream since I was young. And now, I am slowly achieving and reaching my dreams. I feel like everything is falling into place because I know that I am 100-percent committed to what I am doing now,” she says.

This 27-year-old joined her friend Nikki del Rosario in her jewelry business called Radiant Lux Jewelry that specializes in engagement and wedding rings and fine jewelry.

“I was a bit hesitant at first because I had no idea about the jewelry industry then. But eventually, I started opening myself to it and Nikki taught me the basics about diamonds.   Then slowly, I became interested and finally decided to enter the business with her. I also thought that maybe it was time to open myself to something new,” she shares.

To arm herself with the knowledge and skills to flourish in her new venture, Ynna, together with her business partner Nikki, took a program on diamonds at the Gemological Institute of America headquarters in Carlsbad, California. They completed the classes, passed the test and got their certificate and diploma as diamond grader. Today, their store stands proud at the second floor of Greenhills Shopping Center.

With the demands of her job both in the showbiz and jewelry industry, Ynna says she starts her day with a prayer. With this, she is able to handle her job well and focus on her daily tasks.

Being in showbiz for 12 years, Ynna, with a charming personality, knows the importance of carrying oneself well and this also transcends in her new venture when she faces customers and clients. So, she makes sure that, among other things, she looks presentable.

Ynna nurtures her natural beauty with the right products that highlight her best features. With a wide range of easily accessible products by leading local cosmetics brand Ever Bilena in her vanity kit, she is confident in acing her tasks for the day.

Acting is a form of creative expression for Ynna and in the future, she wants to establish herself as an actress/singer and not only “anak ni Nadia.” But for now, she is laser-focused on her new venture.

“It is a wonderful thing to be in the business of love because I am able to be a part of people’s milestones in their relationship. I could say that being in the jewelry business has already become my passion,” she says.
