Strokes by Momoi Supe: Perfect brows realized!
There are only a few beauty products and services that I care to shout out about from the rooftops. Strokes by Momoi Supe happens to be one of them. For those who dream of perfectly symmetrical, well-formed, natural-looking brows, microblading may be for you. Unlike conventional eyebrow tattoos, microblading gives your brows a 3D look that totally resembles real eyebrow hair.
A graduate of Interior Design (cum laude) from the University of the Philippines and Top 1 in the Interior Design Licensure Examination, Momoi was drawn into the world of makeup and facial aesthetics and quickly trained in Permanent Makeup in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Singapore and China. In order to reach the level of master microblader, Momoi studied under such international trainers as Chuni Beaulo (Germany), Rusen Donmez (Netherlands), Victoria Tomashivskaya (Russia) and Alan Spadone (Brazil).
Microblading (a.k.a. 3D Eyebrow Embroidery) is a form of three-dimensional tattooing where pigment is implanted in the basal membrane of the skin. The procedure is ideal for those who have sparse (or no) eyebrows as well as for those who have an unflattering brow shape. Done correctly, the finished product would last for one to two years (although a one-time touch-up is recommended).
I went to my appointment at Strokes’ Greenbelt. The first step is a general trimming and shaving of excess eyebrow strands followed by a detailed and painstaking measuring of the upper portion of the face in order to determine the shape of what would be the client’s ideal brows. Once the shape and dimensions have received the approval of the client, a stencil of the brow will be outlined.
Immediately after the outline, a numbing cream (or anaesthetic) will be applied on to the brows in order to ensure a painless microblading procedure. After half an hour, the actual microblading ensues. A secondary anaesthetic gel is placed on standby just in case the client still feels some discomfort. Once the microblading is finished and receives the approval of the client, a healing gel is applied. Detailed literature is given regarding aftercare instructions. The client goes home happy.
The final effect of the microblading procedure can only be fully appreciated about two weeks after the client’s visit. Once Momoi handed me the mirror, however, I fell in love with my lush, youthful brows instantly! Days after, women would approach me commenting on how fabulous my eyebrows looked. They asked: Was I born with perfectly formed brows? Who could they go to replicate the look? Bingo!
The most asked question I get is: Does the procedure hurt? No. It does not hurt. I made it a point to soak in the numbing cream and for the most part I did not feel anything at all. I just felt a slight sting twice during the microblading session and when I alerted Momoi about it, he immediately applied the second numbing gel, waited a while and proceeded, pain-free!
The second question I often receive: Is microblading expensive? It can be pricey but considering the attention to detail put into it and the level of expertise that I received, I would say it definitely is worth it. I am sure that you will agree that when it comes to having semi-permanent or permanent procedures done to your face, you would not rely on anyone else but the very best.
I oftentimes remind my readers that the eyebrows are the hangers of the face. Eyebrows balance the countenance and (depending on their shape) can make a woman look years younger. These are reasons enough to consider booking an appointment, don’t you agree?
