Open season

- Johnny Litton - The Philippine Star

An exclusive event to usher in the polo season was hosted by businessman-sportsman Dr. Mikee Romero and his beautiful wife Sheila at The Peninsula Manila’s The Conservatory.

Members of various polo teams, some from Argentina, Thailand, UK, Australia and China, came for the 2nd Philippine Polo Open 2015 tournament launched by the handsome couple who also owns Team GlobalPort.

The members of the multinational contingent were truly impressed by their hosts’ awesome display of first-class hospitality as superb cocktails were served prior to a sumptuous five-course dinner with members of the business, diplomatic and social circles.

The championship games were held at the exclusive Manila Polo Club’s Enrique Zobel Field, the premier playing field of the “King of Sports.” Mikee is currently pushing for the creation of a national association to sustain the growth of the sport.

Well done, Mikee and Sheila!
