Night of the Diplomats

MANILA, Philippines - It was an evening when East met West, and the twain met at the posh Crimson Hotel in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Diplomats, businessmen and movers and shakers attended the recent MOPC Diplomatic Forum at the Crimson. Organized by the Manila Overseas Press Club (MOPC) and PeopleAsia Magazine, the successful event had as special guest Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, who gamely braved the free-wheeling open forum from MOPC members. Following a sumptuous four-course dinner from Crimson, media men soon found themselves asking serious questions on territorial disputes on Sabah and the Spratlys, as well as the current state of the Philippines’ diplomatic ties with China. Tony Lopez spiced things up with his feisty jokes and commentary.
