Today marks the beginning of the year and jumpstarts great things to come in 2012. Multiple Choice presents Joey Samson’s Spring-Summer 2012 collection entitled, “Man on the Moon.”
The astute designer known for his menswear aesthetics took inspiration from a young boy’s perception of men’s fashion in the recent Fashion Watch Quartet series held at the Lobby Lounge of the Makati Shangri-La. Seeing through the eyes of a child, Samson presented his masterpieces in an almost monochromatic and gradient sea of blues. Refreshing color exploration took place as the designer’s palette introduced interesting brights and new neutrals as highlights to the collection. Breaking from the standard silhouettes, strokes of genius unfolded in impeccable, well-tailored pieces beyond the convention. Stepping out of his boundaries and comfort zone, Samson redefined style with a refreshing perspective on construction and forward detailing. Suits, separates and distinct pieces captivated the imagination in reinvented cut and forms, which added a touch of play to the designer’s notable signature creations. The master of tailoring evidently showcased a style-forward change and a perspective of the progressive evolution of local menswear fashion.
As the year marks the beginning of something new, Joey Samson jumpstarts the season with an inspiration that tickles the imagination in noteworthy design fascination. Brimming with creativity, Samson’s unbounded territory of design pushes the envelope with an unassuming and optimistic attitude towards the development of local design. A bright move into the future, the possibilities of creating outstanding masterpieces for him are endless.
