It was a captivating celebration in the name of love and giving as the Catholic Women’s Club (CWC), a socio-civic women’s organization established in 1921, recently marked its 89th anniversary with an Annual Ball at the Manila Polo Club in Makati City. Dubbed Bailes y Canciones, the spectacular fund-raising affair led by hardworking CWC president Rose Lazaro and energetic Annual Ball Committee chairman Karen Macasaet featured enthralling Spanish-inspired songs and dances performed by guest artists and talented ladies of the club. The vibrant evening became a thanksgiving celebration as CWC recognized the magnanimous efforts of its past presidents Chloe Romulo Periquet, Teresita Rodrigo and Mimi Valerio, indefatigable members such as Thelma Gana and Nikki Valerio, and other philanthropic benefactors whose commitment and generosity have enabled the club to continuously support our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Funds raised during the event will be used to undertake important programs and projects of the organization.
