Better than a hole-in-one
FAMILY JEWELS - Michelle Dayrit-Soliven () - April 4, 2010 - 12:00am

A gentle rain fell on the dry parched greens of the West Course at the Wack Wack Golf and country Club where the Third Tabang Fundraising Golf Tournament was held. The kind participants who came to support a plea to raise funds for the Divine Healer Learning Center located in Cabid-an Sorsogon welcomed this as an answered prayer. This much needed rain is a gift from heaven, said Father Gerard Devesa, a healing priest and the founder of the Healing Servants Foundation.

Do you know that Tabang means help? To all our generous sponsors, players and donors, I wish to say thank you for giving our 257 poor but deserving students a chance, a better than a “hole-in-one” chance at improving their lives in Sorsogon. We had our very first grade school graduates last March 26. Your generosity will allow us to complete additional classrooms and facilities for a high school program to support our growing student population.

We pray that you will never tire of giving generously to these poor students. The very selfless Mother Teresa before passing reminded us that the only thing that can ease poverty is sharing.

Happy Easter to one and all!
