Marcos recovers from COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has recovered from COVID-19 and has ended his seven-day home isolation, Malacañang said yesterday.
“He is OK as of his doctor’s findings yesterday. He has also completed his isolation,” Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said in a text message to reporters. She, however, did not say whether Marcos has resumed face-to-face engagements.
Marcos, 64, tested positive for COVID-19 in an antigen test on July 8. It was the second time he contracted the disease. He first tested positive in 2020.
According to his lead physician Samuel Zacate, the President experienced only mild symptoms that included fever, nasal stuffiness, nasal itchiness and occasional non-productive cough.
Marcos was advised to undergo home isolation for seven days in compliance with the Department of Health’s protocol for fully vaccinated individuals.
The Chief Executive presided over his second Cabinet meeting on Tuesday via teleconferencing.
