DSWD: 42,000 families affected by 'Lando' in Luzon
MANILA, Philippines — Some 42,097 families or 203,267 individuals have been affected by typhoon "Lando" (international name "Koppu") in Luzon, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Monday morning.
The DSWD is currently serving 12,207 families or 59,159 persons outside evacuation centers in Luzon.
Meanwhile, the agency and local government units have collected a total of P2.15-million worth of combined assistance in affected areas.
According to the DSWD, 308 houses have been damaged in Regions 1, 2, 3 and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
Relief operations in areas affected by Lando is ongoing, the DSWD said.
Thousands fled as the typhoon knocked out power and triggered landslides and floods in Northern and Central Luzon on Sunday.
