WATCH: Marian Rivera reacts to Dingdong Dantes’ decision not to run in 2019
MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso star Marian Rivera has opened up about her feelings for her husband, Dingdong Dantes’, plan not to run for the 2019 midterm elections.
In an interview with Philstar.com following her launch with Maine Mendoza as endorser of skincare label Maxi-Peel, Marian said that she stands by everything that her husband said on an Instagram statement.
“Well, kung ano naman ‘yung sinabi n’ya sa Instagram, ‘yan naman ‘yung pinili n’ya, na ang priority n’ya is family,” Marian said.
It can be recalled that last September, Marian confirmed that her husband will run at the upcoming 2019 elections.
"Hindi ko alam kung anong position, pero definitely, yes, tatakbo siya," she said.
Dingdong was in the initial list of Liberal Party’s senatorial slate and was ranked at top 20 to 25 in Pulse Asia’s senatorial survey.
In an Instagram post, Dingdong explained that he asked for a sign from above if he will run or not, and he received his answer “in the most surprising and beautiful way,” through Marian’s pregnancy with their second child.
“At sa kabila ng buong suportang ibibigay sa akin ni Marian… sa anumang magiging desisyon ko sa pagsabak sa pulitika, malinaw sa akin na sa panahong ito ay kailangan kong maging buo para sa aking pamilya,” Dingdong said
He vowed to continue serving the public as a volunteer.
