MANILA, Philippines — “Yes po!” Daniel Matsunaga quickly declared when asked by Philstar.com if he has already moved on from his breakup with actress Erich Gonzales.

“Do I look sad? No na!” he assured.

How was he able to move on?

“Workout! S’yempre nag-football ako!” he said in jest.

The effects of his workout really showed in Daniel’s “revenge body,” which he eagerly paraded in an underwear show last week, as he was announced as the first celebrity endorser for direct-selling brand Avon’s men’s underwear line.

“I prepared myself for this Avon event, of course! And I always prepare myself in everything I do. Being the first male celebrity endorser for Avon is such a huge opportunity for me. Being an ambassador, I really have to take care of myself. I have to train myself wearing underwear because it’s not all the time that I do an underwear show and show myself to you, guys!”

These past months since the breakup, Daniel has been making himself busy with a lot of CrossFit, football, and gym. He complements his exercises with a low-carbohydrate, fiber-rich diet, courtesy of his own healthy food delivery business.

“When you stand in an underwear in front of so many people, it’s awkward, but then, I’m used to it. I’ve been modeling in different countries, but I’m doing it in the Philippines for the first time. Amazing experience!” he shared.

According to Avon Philippines Marketing Director Jean Reyes, they chose Daniel to become their first make celebrity endorser for intimate apparel because the actor is “a man of style, adventure, and confidence that perfectly reflects the modern gentleman. He knows what makes him comfortable in his own skin.”

Daniel, Reyes told Philstar.com in an interview, gives inputs on the underwear’s styles and colors. “He likes earthy hues like blues, blacks, the classics,” Reyes said.

She has observed that men in their early 20s are more into prints, while those 30 to 40 are more into classics like plain colors.

Like in choosing the right underwear, Daniel believes that he will soon find the girl that fits.

“You know, a lot of things are going on in my life right now. I’m very happy with my new show, ‘I Can Do That!’ and I’m happy because God has the right person for you…You just have to wait,” he affirmed.
