Pia Wurtzbach receives framed stamps in her honor

Celso de Guzman Caparas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - 2015 Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach personally received the framed stamps (consisting of a full sheet of 24 stamps and a First Day Cover with a stamp) from Postmaster General Joel Otarra last April 18 during the Bb. Pilipinas 2016 winners’ tea party at the Novotel Manila Araneta, a day before she and her second runner-up Olivia Jordan left for New York.

‘I am speechless! I am truly honored and thankful to PHLPost for the opportunity to be featured on stamp. I got goosebumps seeing these stamps,’ says an ecstatic Pia. (Note: The stamps were featured in Funfare on April 12.)

With the hand-over ceremony coinciding with PHLPost’s 24th anniversary, Pia now officially joins the roster of Philippine Postal Corporation’s (PHLPost) Living Legends after 1969 Miss Universe Gloria Diaz, 1973 Miss Universe Margie Moran-Floirendo, 2013 Miss World Megan Young and world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao.

PHILPost’s Living Legends are exceptional Filipinos, aside from the Presidents of the Philippines, who have brought pride and glory to the country and setting as role model in their chosen field.
