Kim Chiu: I cannot please everybody

MANILA, Philippines - An emotional Kim Chiu, criticized after winning the Best Actress award from the recent Star Awards for TV, said she cannot please everybody.

“Of course I cannot please everybody. May kanya-kanya naman tayong idolo and ang gusto natin 'yong pinaka the best sa taong iniidolo natin,” Kim said in her interview for “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” on Wednesday.

Before the awards night, different reports came out saying that she paid to take home the Best Actress for Drama award for her performance in “Ikaw Lamang.” 

On Monday, Kim reacted through her Twitter account where she said, “kung binibili ang award sana bumili nko noon pa po.” 

Kim admitted that she was hurt by the negative comments about her posted on different social media platforms. She said, however, that seeing her award makes her feel better.

“Sa walo kong teleserye ngayon lang ako nakatanggap ng recognition na mataatawag ko na akin at best actress ako. Siyempre pangarap ko 'yon na magkaroon [ng award],” Kim said.

She said her on-screen partner Xian Lim told her that what other people say isn't important as long as she knows she did her best and that it was recognized.

In the end, Kim tells her bashers, “Gagawin ko silang inspirasyon para pagbutihin pa ang ginagawa ko.”

Kim and Xian's third film together, “Past Tense,” is now in cinemas. The 24-year-old actress said she's looking forward to the coming films that she'll be doing with him.
