After winning Asia’s Best Actress award in 1967 for Dahil sa Isang Bulaklak, Charito Solis topbilled two other heavy dramas, Luha sa Karimlan (1968) and Ang Langit sa Lupa (1969).

Nepomuceno Productions, then her home studio, billed the dramas as a ‘trilogy of immortal film classics.’

Before and after Dahil sa Isang Bulaklak, Charito won many other trophies for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress from Urian, FAMAS, Metro Manila Film Festival, Catholic Mass Media Awards, Film Academy of the Philippines. —RKC
