Belen Velasco was also a Camay Girl

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Recently, Funfare published Part 2 of the Glo-Co star-endorsers of yesteryear, after the same gallery of Camay beauties. Reader Agnes Liwanag said that her grandmother, Belen Velasco (photo), wasn’t included in the Camay roster. Velasco was an actress at Premiere Productions in the ’50s and retired in the early ’80s, nominated for Best Supporting Actress in the fourth FAMAS Awards for Dakilang Hudas in 1955. ‘When I was a kid,’ recalled Agnes, ‘Lola proudly told me that she was a Camay Girl.’ Velasco passed away on Mother’s Day in May 2013.
