Pacquiao-Margarito fight on SOLARtv's Big Ticket
MANILA, Philippines - Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KOs) already has the record of holding world titles in seven different divisions but the Pacman has an insatiable appetite for boxing glory. On Nov. 14, Pacquiao climbs the ring again to try to get his eighth title as many divisions.
Solartv’s Big Ticket airs the fight on the same day.
Standing in his way is Antonio Margarito (38-6-0, 27 KOs). The biggest and most powerful fighter Pacquiao has ever faced.
It is easy to dismiss Margarito as “the fighter who lost to Shane Mosley a while ago” but the Tijuana Tornado is not a pushover by any means. Moving up in weight is usual for many fighters. Retired legends Tito Trinidad and Oscar dela Hoya both started below the welterweight division and worked their way up in weight, collecting world titles in the process. But when they reached the middleweight division, they were both derailed by Bernard Hopkins. Both lost by knockout because they could not handle the bigger man. As the old boxing adage goes, a good big man will always beat a good small man.
Pacquiao aims to debunk this theory once and for all.
