Here comes the sun

SIZZLING HOT - SIZZLING HOT By Juliana Palermo -
It’s summertime! I could absolutely scream that at the top of my lungs! I couldn’t be any happier than waking up in the morning with sunshine on my face.

I’ve always considered the whole year a long summer vacation and since I hardly ever come out during the day, it seemed to me like everyday is the same.

Even though it’s hot all throughout the year, summertime is the ultimate excuse to do a whole lot more partying and put on less clothes.

So, for those who love to show what they’ve got, this season is a favorite.

Back in the States, most of the high school students weren’t required to wear uniform. Clothing was a big part of "popularity" or being "cool," I should say.

Middle school wasn’t so bad because we only had one day out of the whole week to choose our own set of clothes. It wasn’t so tough then. I only had to bother my mom to buy me new clothes every couple of weeks or so.

I was a brat. My mom was a "fashionista," she did some ramp modeling in Malaysia back then, and always kept up with the latest trends.

She taught me all the things I know now about dressing up. I couldn’t consider myself cool at school, but my, she always made sure my clothes were in style.

Someday, I hope I could do the same for my future offsprings as well!

My most memorable days were definitely high school. Everyday was a new day and had to be different everytime.

Wearing the same set of clothes in one week seemed weird for most kids. There were several different school schedules that time, which were called "tracks."

Some tracks had school during the summer, while some kids were off for vacation.

Summertime was always the best time to be in school.

Although it can get a little too dry on some days, I still found it easier to pick clothes to wear. There were times when we would have water fights during our breaks. It was fun!

Swimming class is also best to be taken during this time, of course, rather than during winter.

The best part of it is that they would have new artists come and perform to promote their albums at our school.

The only one who really made it was Pink. She came and performed her song, There You Go, which became a great hit months later.

They gave away Pink pens and notepads to promote her album.

Another group who performed there were 3rd Storee. They had a couple of songs that became popular, but they never really made it to the top.

Schools are always the best place to promote music. It creates a huge impact on kids these days.

One star who became really famous and actually studied in Hollywood High School was Brandy.

She was really known that time and had a few hit songs as well. She was a few years ahead of me, so I never really got to see her in the campus, but her name was in the yearbook.

It’s amazing how quickly seasons change. Before you know it, we grow another year older each time one whole cycle passes!

Time flies so fast. Not one minute of it should be put to waste. Every season should be given importance, especially summertime! This is the best time to look and feel beautiful.

So, pick up those magazines or start logging on to the Internet and begin your research on the hottest styles of 2007.

Holy Week is coming up, and we’ve only got a couple of weeks to get ready for this ultimate fun week to celebrate.

I could only dream to be back in school again and wake up in the morning only having to worry about what to wear in school.

Not enough time is what I was given to act like a child with less responsibilities. Like I said, I could only wish for this.

There’s nothing wrong with giving ourselves one "worry-free" day out of the whole week and just look fabulous. Better yet if we could do that everyday! Have a nice hot summer day everyone!
