MANILA, Philippines —  Automotive firm Mitsubishi Motors Corp. (MMC) yesterday unveiled the all-new Pajero sports utility vehicle (SUV), which it plans to launch in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, in the next fiscal year.

In a statement yesterday, MMC said the Pajero would first be launched in Thailand, followed by Japan and Australia during the current fiscal year, which started on April 1, this year and end in March 2027.

“From fiscal 2027 onward, the company plans to launch the all-new Pajero in approximately 100 countries worldwide, including markets in ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), Latin America and the Middle East,” MMC said.

Built at the firm’s production base in Thailand, the new Pajero is being positioned as a new-generation flagship model for Mitsubishi as it marks a new chapter.

The new Pajero is powered by a specially developed 2.4-liter clean diesel engine.

Introduced in 1982, the Pajero was developed as a cross-country four-wheel drive that offers off-road performance and dependability, along with passenger-car-like comfort.
