Pag-IBIG Fund assists Magalang homeowners
MANILA, Philippines - Pag-IBIG Fund has signed an agreement with the local government unit of Magalang, Pampanga and the Balitucan Homeowners Association Inc. (BHAI) to help BHAI members, specifically those who are Pag-IBIG members, acquire the lots where their houses are constructed. ‘ This partnership with Magalang LGU and BHAI is the first of its kind in North Luzon, aimed at helping Balitucan residents buy the lots where your houses are already built and eventually transfer the titles into your names. As you avail of our housing loan programs, you are on your way to making the property on which your houses stand truly yours.,’ said Pag-IBIG Fund president and CEO Darlene Marie B. Berberabe. There are about 200 association members, half of which are registered Pag-IBIG members and have intent to purchase the lots through Pag-IBIG’s End-User Financing Program. Lot size ranges from 400 to 450 square meters with selling price from P160,000 to P180,000. BHAI sought the assistance of Magalang LGU in helping the residents find a way of eventually owning the land which they have been occupying for the last 40 years with the landowner’s permission. Through the initiative of the Urban Poor Affairs Office, they asked Pag-IBIG for the available options on how they can purchase the subject property. The Magalang LGU also served as mediator between the landowner’s heirs and the residents. Shown in the photo during the MOA signing are (from left): Magalang municipal councilors Dante T.
