SHDA forum tackles improved land titling, housing loan schemes

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA) will take up better housing loan schemes and faster land titling processes in its latest business forum, which will have as special guest speakers Darlene Marie Berberabe, president and CEO of the Housing Development Mutual (Pag-IBIG) Fund, and Eulalio Diaz III, administrator of the Land Registration Authority.

The two agencies have recently entered an agreement that will enable a more convenient and efficient processing of housing loan documents.   A new system will lessen typographical errors and reduce the need for encoding.

Pag-IBIG will share news on enhancements on the existing buyers’ lending program and other updates based on the latest loan guidelines.  Meantime, LRA will give insights on the innovative processes now being undertaken to expedite land titling and other relevant agency developments.

Both shelter agencies have been commended for strengthening government to government partnership for improved public service.

By learning more about the new policies and processes governing land titling and housing loans, developers will be better equipped to address the nation’s growing housing needs.  SHDA’s quarterly business fora ties in with the Housing Industry Roadmap, which aims to eliminate the housing backlog of 3.9 million. The event aims to foster greater collaboration between the government and private sector to create more homes.

The SHDA Business Forum featuring Pag-IBIG and LRA will be held on Tuesday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Metropolitan Club, Makati.  The forum is open to members and non-members of SHDA.  For more information, contact the SHDA Secretariat at 856-1554 or email [email protected].
