HARI upholds world-leading excellence at the 8th Hyundai Motor World Skills Olympics

-

MANILA, Philippines - Excellence has its rewards, and for Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, which currently occupies the Top 4 spot in overall industry rankings, the resulting payoff not only means another award on a shiny trophy case, but another milestone in championing customer satisfaction.

HARI recently triumphed in the 8th Hyundai Motor World Skills Olympics held at the Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) Technical Training Center in Chonan, Korea. Nelson A. Tavara of Hyundai La Union, last year’s champion in HARI’s National Skills Olympics, bagged the Excellent Skills Award in HMC’s prestigious biennial event, which demonstrates the technical prowess of Hyundai’s best technicians. 75 participants from 50 countries bravely competed, and HARI’s Nelson A. Tavara was distinguished among the 10 technicians chosen to receive the title of Excellent Skills.

Aside from this honor, global Shell and Shell Korea, major partners of HMC in organizing the said competition, bestowed HARI with the “Best Service Provider” award for the distributor’s dedicated support in the promotion of Shell quality lubricants in the Philippines.

Founded in 1995, the competition in Hyundai’s World Skills Olympics may seem fairly easy on paper, but in reality, it consists of two grueling phases: a written exam and a practical exam, where the technicians’ skills and knowledge of Hyundai are gauged according to their problem-solving ability and repair procedure, while focusing on the following criteria: trouble diagnosis method, trouble finding efficiency, and precautionary measures. The practical test is divided into several sections by major themes such as engine system, transaxle system, electrical system, chassis system, and component diagnosis. In all these, Nelson A. Tavara displayed grace under pressure, which successfully paid off and sealed another victory for HARI, and ultimately, for the Philippines.

HARI’s newest achievement in the field of service counts as its third milestone in its pursuit of upholding excellence in customer satisfaction. Through continuous and world-class training, HARI’s technicians have consistently won major awards in HMC’s ultimate battleground for Master and Expert Hyundai technicians around the globe. In 2005, HARI’s representatives to the 6th World Skills Olympics bagged the Superior Skills Award, and in 2007, Gilbert Durna and Reggie Ramos bested over 72 technicians from 45 countries with an overall ranking of Excellent Skills.

As HARI continues to hold the torch of world-leading excellence, so shall the official distributor of Hyundai in the Philippines keep its passion to deliver total customer satisfaction at all levels, and bring Hyundai at the forefront of the automotive industry.
