PEZA temporarily transfers office

Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has transferred its office to the DoubleDragon Center West Building in Pasay City as it awaits the construction and completion of its own building.

In a statement, PEZA said it recently moved to the DoubleDragon Center West Building where it would stay temporarily while waiting for the PEZA Building to be put up in Pasay City.

Prior to moving, PEZA was leasing spaces in the Philippine National Oil Co. (PNOC)-Department of Energy Complex in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig since 2016.

“Because of the expiration of PEZA’s contract with the PNOC complex on Aug. 31, 2020, PEZA management decided to temporarily move to a bigger office and a more strategic location in DoubleDragon while its original PEZA building in Pasay City will soon be constructed to provide big spaces with the continuous and growing influx of export companies and investors,” PEZA director general Charito Plaza said.

She said the new office is strategic and closer to the airport, making it convenient for both foreign and local investors.

She also said the transfer allows PEZA to conform to physical distancing that should be observed in the workplace given the COVID-19 pandemic.

While PEZA has changed the location of its temporary head office, its landlines will remain the same.

To facilitate the transition, PEZA’s server will be down until Aug. 23, which will affect its landlines.

“During this short period, clients can reach PEZA through their emails and the official mobile numbers of its officials which can be accessed at www.peza.gov.ph/index.php/covid19. All transactions will be temporarily done virtually. Official numbers of the agency will be posted on the social media page of the agency as well,” Plaza said.
