“Ang pagpapakasal o desisyon na maging commited sa someone na mahal mo ay isang magandang bagay,” she said in an earlier interview over the weekend. “Kaysa mag-enter ka sa isang relationship na not honoring God and of course hindi rin makakabuti sa 'yo.

She added: “Gusto ko lang tanggalin 'yong fear na 'yon and to just be an inspiration to the youth that it's a beautiful thing, na hindi nakakatakot ang word na commitment. Actually it's something na you'll be partnered with someone na alam mong mamahalin mo habang buhay.”

Meanwhile, the Cornerstone talent said that she is not planning to change her genre even if she's already getting married. The 25-year-old artist believes that marriage should not affect a singer's kind of music.

“People, they like my music because of the honesty and sincerity, and that's something that I don't plan of taking out,” she points out. “Sa ating industriya, kapag nagpakasal ka na wala na, panget na 'yan. Ako as an artist, nakikita ko po ang sarili ko na hindi lang po isang artista— gusto ko pong may maiwan sa mga tao.”

Music for a cause

Meanwhile, Yeng recently renewed her contract as an ambassadress of the Academy of Rock. This is her second year of representing the Singaporean music school, which now has two branches in the Philippines.

Yeng also worked with AOR graduates in the album “The Next Step Vol. 2.” The other artists in the album include Chloe Villalet, Carmela Gonzalez, Kelcey Palileo, Ruth Ann Lee, and Nicki Lucido.

The album was produced to raise funds for ABS-CBN's Bantay Bata Foundaion. The digital and physical sales of the album will go to the foundation.

Yeng said she's happy because “kaisa ko 'yong Academy of Rock sa advocacy ko na makatulong, maka-inspire din sa iba lalo sa kabataan,”

The “The Next Step Vol. 2” album is available in Academy of Rock outlets in Rockwell, The Fort, Bantay Bata Foundation office. It can also be bought in AOR's outlets in Singapore.
