MANILA, Philippines — Fil-Japanese Yuka Saso vaulted into contention in the LPGA Ford Championship after a sizzling second round but Bianca Pagdanganan missed the halfway cut by one on Good Friday in Gilbert, Arizona.

Saso fired a nine-under 63 at the Seville Golf and Country Club to zoom to joint sixth at 11-under 133 while Pagdanganan bounced back with a 66 after a 74 but missed the cutline of five-under 139.
